Main Mission
The Data Management Lead defines, implements, and oversees data governance at UM6P, ensuring data quality, accessibility, protection, and regulatory compliance. He/she coordinates the policies, tools, and processes required to maintain data integrity and security, while supporting teams in adopting best practices for data management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Governance & Quality
- Establish and enforce governance standards for data quality, accessibility, and protection.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and reliability.
- Continuously monitor data quality and implement corrective measures.
- Standardize governance practices across all data-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO
- Define and enforce data privacy and security policies for sensitive information.
- Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain regulatory watch.
- Perform regular audits and assessments of governance practices.
- Identify non-compliance issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Present findings to senior management and recommend improvements.
- Develop and deliver training programs on data governance, quality, and protection.
- Create and maintain clear documentation on policies and procedures.
- Promote a culture of responsibility and data stewardship across UM6P.
- Work closely with IT, Legal, Compliance, AI, Data & Analytics teams.
- Support stakeholders with their data governance needs.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration across departments.
- Continuously refine governance practices based on feedback and technological advancements.
- Stay informed of industry trends, tools, and best practices.
- Optimize processes for efficiency and reliability.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data management and governance.
- Strong knowledge of data regulations and standards (GDPR, ISO
- Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
- Proven experience in defining and implementing governance strategies.
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to design and deliver training programs.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Data Management, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
