Role Purpose:

As Environmental Health&Safety Engineer for our new brownfield and greenfield plant in Kenitra, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, as well as Motherson's global standards. You will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs to protect employees, assets, and the environment. In this role, you will drive a proactive safety culture, support the safe launch and operation of the plant, and contribute to sustainable growth in both the automotive and locomotive wiring harness business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Moroccan EHS laws and international standards (ISO 14001 & ISO
  • Implement and maintain EHS management systems, procedures, and audits to support greenfield/ brownfield environments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses across plant operations, implementing effective mitigation measures.
  • Lead investigations of accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs to foster a safety-first mindset.
  • Monitor environmental performance (waste, emissions, energy use) and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting regular drills and ensuring readiness.
  • Partner with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to integrate EHS requirements into all plant activities, including new equipment installation and process changes.
  • Engage with contractors and suppliers to ensure EHS compliance during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and certification bodies.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare internal and external reports.
  • Benchmark best practices and lead continuous improvement projects in line with company global EHS strategy.

Your Profile:

  • Engineering degree with internationally recognized EHS certifications.
  • At least 5 years of EHS experience in an industrial/plant environment; experience in automotive or locomotive manufacturing is a strong plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Moroccan EHS regulations and proven experience with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 systems implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead safety programs in dynamic industrial settings (construction, commissioning, and production).
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment with both greenfield and brownfield challenges.
  • Fluent in English, Arabic and French
